At a political debate on Thursday night, a GOP candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives left the room laughing after he struggled to answer a question on his position on reproductive rights. Rep. Mike Coffman (R), who’s running for re-election in Colorado’s 6th congressional district, needed help from the crowd to remember what “birth control” is called.

Coffman was asked how his views different than those of his opponent, Andrew Romanoff.

    Seems every time the teleprompter goes out, the “uhms” start to creep in.

      Ikr? Teleprompers were, like, never ever used by politicians before 2008. Ever. Politicians prior to the used to memorize the whole damn speech, huh? /s

        Exactly! And they never said “Uhm” to fill the space between real words! Seriously, who does that?

      he shouldn’t need a teleprompter to answer that question. it’s rather straightforward. if he can’t answer such a simple question, how is going to answer a question on , say, foreign policy?
