The father of Ethan Couch was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly impersonating a police officer. Ethan Couch was the teenager who last year was given probation after killing four people  and injuring two others in a car accident while drunk driving. His defense was that he had “Affluenza” which allegedly affects children from wealthy families who have a sense of entitlement.

Couch

[su_center_ad]Frederick Anthony Couch was taken into custody in Texas shortly before 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday by North Richland Hills police.

According to KDFW, Police officers discovered Fred Couch while responding to an early morning incident on July 28. Officers found Couch at the scene and told North Richland Hills police he was a reserve officer with the City of Lakeside.

When police spoke with Couch again, he reiterated he was a reserve officer and had his “police stuff” in his car.

“He kept putting his hands in his pocket, and that has a tendency to make officers nervous they don’t know what your intentions are,” Keith Bauman with the North Richland Hills Police Department said.

As it happens, one of the officers had worked at the Lakeside Police Department.

Fred Couch produced a wallet that contained what appeared to be a police badge and ID card and was allowed to leave.

But the North Richland Hills officer who was familiar with the Lakeside PD didn’t recognize the badge, and an investigation into Couch’s claims ensued by officers.

The police discovered that Couch was not a Lakeside officer and has never been a licensed officer in the state of Texas.

According to KDFW, Fred Couch has been officially charged with False Identification as a Police Officer: Misrepresentation of Property and his bond was set at $2,500.

“He kept putting his hands in his pocket, and that has a tendency to make officers nervous they don’t know what your intentions are,”

If Couch was black he probably would have been shot…

A black or Hispanic’s bond would probably be $25K+. This affluenza stuff is total crap!

Will affluenza be the defense here too?

    • crc3 August 20th, 2014 at 10:33 am

Looks like it just because of a measly $2.5K bond. I see it as just a formality because the guy is rich and that amount of money means nothing to him…

He who has money gets ‘justice’ all others go to jail.

    • tiredoftea August 20th, 2014 at 12:06 pm

That, or depression over his wrongly incarcerated son!

      • whatthe46 August 20th, 2014 at 5:53 pm

what incarcerated son? he never spent a day serving justice in jail.

Surely he received bullets to his eye, head, and lower torso, because impersonating an officer should require that, if not more. After all, if a young black male is murdered for jaywalking, a white, rich man should be murdered for his misdeed.

What, the white man wasn’t shot? Knock me over with a feather!

It would appear the entire family might have ‘issues’.

“Ethan Couch was the teenager who last year was given probation after
killing four people and injuring two others in a car accident while
drunk driving” WELL… This should prove in his mind that he does have a sense of entitlement… poor rich kid!

He sure sounds like a con-artist. I wonder how many people he has lied to. How reputable is his business really?

Well I wasn’t expecting a fine upstanding citizen to be the father of a spoiled brat who killed four people and claim he was too rich to know better.
