Have you ever been shooting at a terrorist uprising suspicious looking target with your sniper rifle, only to find that the person you’re aiming at was too far out of reach for your bullets? Or, even worse, have you ever been prepping for an assassination only to find that your skill set is that of a…

    Yeah–legislation. Good luck with that.

“Until now, only a few, elite, military-trained snipers could achieve this skill level,” Hogwash, Here’s Jerry Miculek doing it at 1000 yards with a 9mm revolver http://youtu.be/jJ3XwizTqDw

    What could possibly go wrong?

  4. Republicans_are_Evil August 22nd, 2014 at 6:57 pm

That’s just what we need. Right wing domestic terrorist sociopaths running around with precision assassination weapons.

    Smart technology, stupid gun fetishists.

Now I’m sure all you wanna-be snipers are probably looking for a good target. If you’re interested in a walking, talking 6-foot pile of shit, might I suggest Ted Nugent? He’s the perfect candidate because you can shoot him from 1000 yards away – far enough away so you wouldn’t have to smell him.

      perfect!

Leave it to the anti-gun leftists to suggest murdering someone you differ with politically

If we can regulate silencers, then surely we can regulate this.

Specifically designed for the manual reading impaired tea party type.

Oddly enough, I can see a valid argument in favor of this tech by hunters.
Being able to take down a deer or bear or whatever from that distance could mean a cleaner kill, preserving the integrity of either the meat, the coat or both.

That being said, it’s certainly not enough of a valid reason to support making this available to anyone and their Uncle Ammosexual.

killing innocent life forms should only be permitted with a swiss army knife. Sick people hunt in the usa not hungry people. They like to kill and then justify it by saying they put it in the freezer.

      • MiAtheistGal August 23rd, 2014 at 9:12 am

Actually, I will beg to differ there. My parents lived in northern Michigan in a very poor county and the deer they killed during hunting season, both bow and gun, got them through the winter. A hunting license is far cheaper than months of meat. And they processed the deer themselves, saving even more.

But many people do hunt for the blood lust or trophies and that is sickening. But please don’t say every hunter is just blood thirsty. Hunting literally kept my parents fed.

Ridiculous. While I personally could never hunt (I do fish), I won’t pretend eating my factory farmed chicken or eating feed lot fed cow flesh is somehow more moral/less sick than hunting. And I think it kooky to consider all but the tiny percentage of the world that is vegan ‘sick’.

      This should eliminate sound shots.

Registration and licensing is probably the best way to handle this along with installing tracking chips in them. Making them illegal will just create a black market and we won’t know who has them or where they are.

    I want one!

    • Carla Akins August 23rd, 2014 at 3:36 pm

      Of course, you do.

      • R.J. Carter August 23rd, 2014 at 3:42 pm

Purely for the tech coolness of it. I want to see if I can fire it with my smart phone.

Puts a new spin on “there’s an app for that”

How long is a “football field”?

    • bpollen August 24th, 2014 at 8:44 pm

In the US, it’s 100 yards from goalpost to goalpost. The end zones are each 10 yards deep. So, depending on where you measure, either 100 or 120 yards,

Now, for what the rest of the world calls football, it’s between 100 and 110 meters.

      • bhil August 25th, 2014 at 8:05 am

Thanks for that, so give or take 20 yards it’s 100 yards or so. Not much as the bullet flies.

Satire? Right? Nope an actual hilariously idiotic hoplophobe article…

As a former Army Sniper myself, I can assure you that NO gadget can make you a proficient shooter, let alone a Sniper.

I am familiar with the scope in question, seems to be a promising piece of kit… However… Even if it computes the aim-point/hold/firing solution for you, you still need to know and apply the basic fundamentals of marksmanship perfectly to make a long shot.

Therefore this scope will not be turning your neighborhood thugs into GySgt. Carlos “White Feather” Hathcock II overnight.

Do gadgets help? Sure, but they wont make you a “Sniper” any more than watching a Tom Berringer movie will. At least until that gadget is a fire and forget heat seeking boat-tail bullet.

    Typical gun grabber hyperbole BS!

    • mea_mark August 25th, 2014 at 9:19 pm

Actually it is more or less true. There is a little bit of embellishment but it is happening. Google the company. Technology is racing ahead.

You gun control freaks make me chuckle.
