Texas School District Arming Teachers With Guns
An Argyle, Texas school says it’s doing this to protect teachers from violence.
The controversial practice has officially been put into place at Argyle ISD, and in order to let people know that teachers are packing, the school is displaying a sign for everyone to see.
“Please be aware that the staff at Argyle ISD (Independent School District) are armed and may use whatever force is necessary to protect our students,” reads the sign.
Back in January, the district voted for the implementation of school marshals, and now, under the Protection of Texas Children Act, some teachers are being allowed to carry weapons on campus as long as they undergo psychological evaluation, gun training, and obtain a license.
“I trust that the administrators of this school district will put my kid’s best interest at heart,” said parent Lacey Fenoglio to KDAF. “I think if a tragedy does occur, lives can be saved by guns being in the right hands, and I think the teachers here might be able to stop something like that and life can be saved.”

It’s finally happened – America has lost its collective mind. This is beyond insane.
bahlers August 26th, 2014 at 11:59 am
What makes this insane? Every person in LEO knows that the quickest way to stop a violent attack is through a fast response, gone are the days where we wait 1/2 hr to one hr for SWAT to arrive and storm the building room by room. As long as the teachers are receiving training on how to use, and when to use their firearm, I don’t see a problem.
edmeyer_able August 26th, 2014 at 12:10 pm
Let’s hope they have a better instructor than the one who was shot by the 9yo in Az yesterday or the countless instructors who have SHOT THEMSELVES over the years, just google it.
bahlers August 26th, 2014 at 12:19 pm
I am aware of such instances. Just because someone has a firearms instructor doesn’t mean they are receiving the training that they need. And I hope that you realize these situations are in a very small minority.
edmeyer_able August 26th, 2014 at 12:36 pm
And knowing this you are fine w/unleashing a bunch of yahoo’s into a situation where they could kill or wound students standing down range. My daughter is a teacher and I would encourage her to look else where if this was her school.
edit to say More guns doesn’t = safer society.
granpa.usthai August 26th, 2014 at 3:19 pm
why wait for what could take extensive training? I’m in favor of contracting out school security all across America through Federal Assistance. These well dressed, clean cut, ALL AMERICAN armed unregulated militias from our inner cities could use the multi-billion dollar employment. They already know how to shoot, and I’ve no doubt they would have an immediate response time to any acts of terror, civilian or over zealous local LE. We could supply them with our unused Military armaments that many of them are already trained in just in case domestic terrorist try a sneak attack from Oklahoma!
fahvel August 26th, 2014 at 2:42 pm
damned good thing you don’t live in my neck of the woods – the whole commune would laugh you out of town. How narrow a mind you must have.
granpa.usthai August 26th, 2014 at 3:08 pm
perhaps the response time was a few weeks slow in Nevada, but I think you gotta admit that being on line BEFORE like in Ferguson, Missouri has cut the average response time down significantly.
granpa.usthai August 26th, 2014 at 3:26 pm
an embedded well dressed, clean cut ALL AMERICAN overly armed inner city unregulated militia contracted out for security would have zero response time. Can’t get much better than that.

The experiment is started. Now let’s see how long it is before the first “accident” happens.
Foundryman August 26th, 2014 at 11:04 am
I’ll be surprised if some nut doesn’t take this as a challenge.
Maxx44 August 26th, 2014 at 11:26 am
What could possibly go wrong?
edmeyer_able August 26th, 2014 at 12:07 pm
I wonder if parents who disagree w/this idiocy can sue the district to provide alternative schooling for their children?
R.J. Carter August 26th, 2014 at 2:03 pm
They could always get vouchers to send their kids to another school.
bahlers August 26th, 2014 at 8:40 pm
I thought many people on this site claim that vouchers are unconstitutional?
whatthe46 August 26th, 2014 at 10:28 pm
i would think that forcing a parent to enroll their child in what may be a potential dangerous environment to please the paranoid is unconstitutional.
bahlers August 26th, 2014 at 10:48 pm
How many teachers have committed mass murder on their students? From my recollection not a whole lot, so how is allowing trained teachers the right to take a preventative measure unsafe? Unless you can cite any example of misuse by a teacher in Utah, then you have no logical reason to think that such a measure would be unsafe in Texas.
whatthe46 August 27th, 2014 at 9:28 am
you think that a person losing their minds is only affected by geographical location only? “From my recollection not a whole lot…” so one isn’t enough by your standards, given your statement? teachers have physically attacked their students, so now you give one a gun? utah has its wackos as well. but hey, if you’re wiling to take that chance as well as the other wackos that think this is a good idea, then more power to you. it certainly isn’t my problem.
bahlers August 28th, 2014 at 10:48 am
That’s my point, you or I cannot cite even one example of misuse with a gun by a teacher in Utah. So your arguement that this kind of measure is unsafe is invalid.
R.J. Carter August 27th, 2014 at 9:13 am
They do. Not this guy though.
bahlers August 26th, 2014 at 8:41 pm
And what would they sue the over? An unsafe learning environment? One could argue the current environment is more unsafe then having a teacher with a gun that has received some form of training.
edmeyer_able August 26th, 2014 at 8:56 pm
Here have a cookie.
whatthe46 August 26th, 2014 at 10:24 pm
then you’d have to rely on that teacher not “LOSING” it right? oh, that is unless you think teachers are beyond reproach of insanity.
M D Reese August 26th, 2014 at 12:51 pm
I just hope that no children are harmed in this experiment.
bahlers August 26th, 2014 at 8:42 pm
This so called “experiment” is and has been going on in Utah for several years now, have not heard of any accidents.
MIAtheistGal August 26th, 2014 at 1:58 pm
Well, good, now the problem of how to get a gun into a school has been solved for a potential gunman. That’s nice. /s
R.J. Carter August 26th, 2014 at 2:03 pm
They had problems getting them in before?
Dwendt44 August 26th, 2014 at 2:49 pm
Violence is a real big problem is Argyle Texas?
whatthe46 August 26th, 2014 at 6:35 pm
i never even heard of Argyle.
Dwendt44 August 26th, 2014 at 6:43 pm
A small city SSW of Denton, Texas.
whatthe46 August 26th, 2014 at 10:21 pm
as of 2012 the population was only 3,489. who are they guarding against?
granpa.usthai August 26th, 2014 at 3:04 pm
They should just help overly arm their local BLACK unregulated Militia then contract out with them for security. Not only are the ARMED BLACK unregulated better dressed and cleaner cut than the nasty, filthy STD ridden ARMED WHITE unregulated militia, they also have ALL AMERICAN headgear. None of that filthy rotten outdated Nazi garbage.
‘rule of law’ upheld
children taught that appearance DOES matter
employment opportunities for the inner cities.
builds better relations in America as even poor white children will feel safer and know if their hate filled beer gut drinking moms and dads riddled with STD’s get out of hand at home when watching Foxx news, they now how a safe place protected by a OVERLY WELL ARMED unregulated militia that will uphold ‘rule of law’!
kids may even want to STAY in school and maybe even learn about the foreign concept of EQUAL JUSTICE UNDER THE LAW.
whatthe46 August 26th, 2014 at 6:34 pm
“…undergo psychological evaluation, gun training, and obtain a license.” police go through psych. evals as well and extensive training and look what has happened. this is not going to go well. not well at all. i’m just going to sit back and watch the train wreck.
bahlers August 26th, 2014 at 8:43 pm
We have been watching this so called “train wreck” go on in Utah for years, and no mishaps or “wrecks” have taken place.

“I am getting Starbucks for sure before school tomorrow. That way I’ll be refreshed AND have something to dump on the little a-holes.”
“So happy to be done w/school for 10 days, but especially to be away from the ones who truly try my patience & make my trigger finger itchy.”
“The problem w/teaching summer school is I’m gonna get all the dipshits who failed my class, 2 of whom I wish would get hit by a car.”

this tweet coming from: Krista Hodges (teacher) is still employed at California’s Newark Memorial High School in spite of having Tweeted that she wants to stab kids.
and “some” people posting don’t think teachers have issues and you want them to have guns around students. freaks.
