Police in Marion, Indiana arrested a woman who claimed she had been stabbed by a black man, when an investigation revealed she likely stabbed herself, according to WANE.

[su_center_ad]On July 29th, officers were called on a report that Kylie Boswell had been stabbed by a man who ran into a nearby cornfield, a claim which turned out to be false.

According to investigators, the 32-year-old woman fabricated the story and stabbed herself.

Police said during the investigation that they also determined that she had made up an earlier reporting of a domestic battery involving her and her husband on May 18th. Detectives also said that she involved her 13-year-old daughter by having her lie about a battery that had never occurred. That reported incident led to the arrest of Bowell’s husband.

    Sick. She needs mental help.

    • Khary A August 27th, 2014 at 9:17 am

She’s not sick…screw that she’s a racist B&*ch and she needs jail time ( and stitches). The fact that she got her 13 tear old daughter to go along with it proves that this isn’t sickness it was premeditated. I won’t even get into how screwed up the 13 year old is, and don’t give me that bull about how she’s a child. At 13 I knew right from wrong for the most part. The thing that upsets me the most is the unoriginal nature of these accusations. A system of persecution predicated on the specious notion that black skin obviously equates to savage and criminal behavior.

    • edmeyer_able August 27th, 2014 at 9:18 am

Yes she does, but I feel more sympathy for the husband and daughter than I do for her.

      • R.J. Carter August 27th, 2014 at 9:19 am

Getting the daughter to lie for her own self-inflicted injuries is like some sort of inverted Munchhausen-by-proxy.

      • MIAtheistGal August 27th, 2014 at 9:25 am

Oh absolutely agree! Sounds like a munchausen type disorder. It’s lucky she didn’t hurt her child for attention.

    • whatthe46 August 27th, 2014 at 7:49 pm

she’s not sick. she’s an evil lying bitch.

  2. Tommy6860 August 27th, 2014 at 9:04 am

I think this could fall into a category of a self-inflicted hate crime O.o.

    • mea_mark August 27th, 2014 at 9:18 am

Now that everyone knows what really happened, I bet she hates herself even more. How do you stop a cycle of self abuse like this?

  3. R.J. Carter August 27th, 2014 at 9:19 am

    Any relation to Ashley Todd?

  4. Khary A August 27th, 2014 at 10:27 am

Well I don’t know if you saw Ice bucket challenge guy but for me the idea of injuring yourself doesn’t necessarily connote mental illness. I mean stupidity, absolutely but sickness I’m not so sure. Does racism itself stand as a social sickness or is it as farcical as “Affluenza”? So I feel we can agree that she is not right in the head but whether that means she should receive empathy is, in my eyes, debatable.

    • uzza August 27th, 2014 at 11:09 am

Empathy is not something one has to earn; it’s something one has to give, when one is a decent person.

      • Khary A August 27th, 2014 at 11:46 am

When I wrote that statement I was wavering between empathy and sympathy. Empathy is simply the ability to feel for someone as opposed to sympathy which is the ability to relate to someone. I don’t personally ascribe to the more sentimental aspects of those two words.

I feel that Empathy IS something one has to earn and sympathy is self serving and shameful unless the experience is truly shared because otherwise it is constituted out of pity and that only demeans all people involved.

EmpathySympathyDefinitionUnderstanding what others are feeling because you have experienced it yourself or can put yourself in their shoes.Acknowledging another person’s emotional hardships and providing comfort and assurance.ExampleI know it’s not easy to lose weight because I have faced the same problems myself. When people try to make changes like this (e.g. lose some weight) at first it seems difficult.

            …i’m glad you did this… 🙂

        • Tammy Minton Haley August 27th, 2014 at 1:32 pm

empathy is not something one “earns” from another–it is something a person GIVES to another…

          wow…

          • Khary A August 27th, 2014 at 2:04 pm

So your statement means what? I am asking you to clarify is all. As I stated earlier To be sympathetic to another is generally an impossibility because you are not that person and their experiences are their own, Thus why I cannot sympathize with say a Holocaust survivor, at best I can only empathize.

          • Tammy Minton Haley August 27th, 2014 at 2:21 pm

you don’t understand the definitions of the words…i’m not fighting with you about this…3 people have tried to tell you that you are misunderstanding the definitions of the words…

you win, i give up…remain in your mean-spirited ball of self-righteousness, wherein people must “earn” your kindness…

          • Khary A August 27th, 2014 at 2:41 pm

HA! and I’m mean spirited? you seem to be an overly emotional wreck. Take you and your bleeding heart and bask in the glory of your “kindnesses”

          • Tammy Minton Haley August 27th, 2014 at 3:55 pm

you’re an obnoxious asshole…and, quite the bitch, as well…

i’ll never post to you again, have no fear…you are incapable of admitting you are wrong…and, you childishly dig in your heels and stomp your feet about it…grow up…3 people have told you you are wrong…live with it…

again, it doesn’t matter what you want the definitions of words to be…it doesn’t matter what you think the definitions of words should be…the definitions of words are the definitions of words…

          • Khary A August 27th, 2014 at 4:06 pm

bite me, not the right one the left one.You coward can’t actually debate about esoteric concepts like sympathy and such because you are incredibly limited. You’re not used to hearing other opinions about things are you? yeah its childish to want the last word but with a C%^t like you i feel it’s important.

        • Tammy Minton Haley August 27th, 2014 at 2:28 pm

again, it doesn’t really much matter what YOU think the definitions of “empathy” and “sympathy” are–the definitions were well-established many years ago and wrote down and agreed upon…you can’t decide it means something different than what it means…

          geez…

          • Khary A August 27th, 2014 at 2:58 pm

Oh and for your own edification you ^*&%

            http://www.iep.utm.edu/emp-symp/

IN such fields as ethics and philosophy the difference between the two words are discussed in depth. It is also known that “empathy” was only created recently and it IS technically in error of what its definition is. SO what I think of the word does matter.

      • Tammy Minton Haley August 27th, 2014 at 11:58 am

well said–i’m afraid empathy is becoming rare….and it is critical to a just and mature society…

    • MIAtheistGal August 27th, 2014 at 11:15 am

Some confusion here. Don’t say she needs mental help in order to garner sympathy or an excuse. I say that because she has mental problems and needs to be removed from society before she hurts someon else (more than she’s already mentally damaged her daughter, that is). I think we’re saying the same thing in different ways, my friend.

Republicans are crazier than a june bug! Is this self hatred or what? Go ahead and put her in a straight jacket and send her to the loony farm already!

  6. Tammy Minton Haley August 27th, 2014 at 11:52 am

    ok…maybe it’s me…a little slow on the uptake today, i reckon…

it took me a minute to unpack this one, but after visiting the originating website, i think i got it–

her put-upon husband never hurt anybody, and the “black guy” was a complete fabrication and she somehow got her 13 year-old to totally lie to the police…?

on the plus side, she has counts…lots of counts…

    2 counts false informing
    2 counts obstruction of justice
contributing to the delinquency of a minor
    neglect of a dependent

I see that Tawana Brawley’s book has finally reached the remainder bin at the Marion, IN Walmart.

    • Khary A August 27th, 2014 at 11:58 am

Their punishment should be that the only entertainment they are allowed to have from here on in is to read “The Crucible”. Bearing false testimony as to incriminate is one of the worst attacks on a society because it undermines the social contract of trust between us all. These kind of situations infuriate me to no end.

  8. Mike A Dickerson August 27th, 2014 at 2:50 pm

I guess she figured if she blame it on a black man people wouldn’t challenge her story. I’m tired of white people using the race card or the obama card to justify their dysfunctional lives.

  9. whatthe46 August 27th, 2014 at 7:48 pm

    does anyone remember susan smith…?

  10. whatthe46 August 27th, 2014 at 7:55 pm

no. she’s not a sick racist. she’s an outright evil, lying racist period. darla routier stabbed her children to death then slit her own throat and blamed it on some invisible being. so yes, people do harm themselves all the time and blame others. and white people will commit a crime and blame it on the “black man” all the time. you’d think they’d come up with a new line by now.
