Another of the teenage victims in a Marysville high school shooting died Sunday night, raising the number of fatalities from when a student opened fire in a cafeteria to three.

14-year-old Gia Soriano succumbed to her injuries after being shot by 14-year-old Jaylen Fryberg.

Three other students remain hospitalized, two in critical condition and one in serious condition, according to KOMO News.

Dr. Joanne Roberts read a statement from Gia’s family at a new conference.

“We are devastated by this senseless tragedy. Gia is our beautiful daughter, and words cannot express how much we will miss her,” the statement said.

Roberts said Gia’s family will donate her organs for transplant.

KOMO News reports:

Of the wounded students, only 14-year-old Nate Hatch showed improvement, though he remained in serious condition in intensive care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Fifteen-year-old Andrew Fryberg also remained in critical condition in intensive care. Both are cousins of Jaylen Fryberg.

Meanwhile, 14-year-old Shaylee Chuckulnaskit remained in critical condition in intensive care at Providence Regional Medical Center.

The girl killed in the shooting Friday hasn’t been officially identified but family and friends have identified her as Zoe Galasso.

The makeshift memorial on a chain link fence by the school, which will be closed this week, kept growing Sunday. Balloons honoring the victims and the shooter adorn the fence along with flowers, stuffed toys and signs.

Meanwhile, there is no known motivation for the shooter’s actions.  There is speculation that the girl, Zoe, who died on the scene, refused to go out with the shooter, and that he was also targeting his cousins when he opened fire, although that’s not officially confirmed.

    Heartbreaking.
And of course nothing will be done by our cowardly (and bought & paid for) politicians.

And what should they actually do in this situation. the story appears to be, girl he liked, breaks up with him. starts dating his cousin. He goes on Harmon filled rampage.

Let’s start with not stocking his home with accessable weapons. Then we can move on to stopping the incessant fear-mongering by the right and the marketing of death instruments as a sign of manhood as promoted by the NRA.

          1) Do we even know where he obtained the pistol from and whether or not it was even secured.

          2) “Marketing of Death Instruments”…. Hmmmm So, a family that chooses to hunt as part of their ways, This is marketing of Death Instruments?? OR, for that matter, a family who chooses to have a firearm in the home for protection??

But considering the OP was about the politicians, I FAIL to see how you addressed the question without blurting out typical rhetoric… Care to try again ?

No because you will never be swayed by any ideas besides ammosexual dogma. I merely offered my take on your mindless comment.

Hmmmm Ammosexual Dogma…. I should probably look into that. Maybe I can bottle it up and sell it as a cologne…

If a man yells in the forest, and there is no one around to hear him. Is he still WRONG ????

Come on, go ahead. You can do it…

CNN ran a story this morning saying a second student had died from this tragedy. I found that statement sad and disheartening that they chose to use that number.

A few sources have stated that. There are three dead bodies, no matter how they choose to count them.

I’ve heard a report that he was supposed to be on medication and had stopped taking them, can anyone expand on that?

    • Pistol-Packing October 27th, 2014 at 3:36 pm

The only thing i have really heard, is mostly about the relationship with the girl, who dumped him, and started dating his cousin. Which is probably why they were all sitting at the same table together..

I definitely do not miss puberty…
