Two brothers who recently came to the U.S. from Senegal were beaten and severely injured, taunted as they were called “Ebola.”
The boys, in sixth and eighth grade, were attacked Friday afternoon at I.S. 318 in Tremont, according to the African Advocacy Council.
The boys, who have been in the U.S. for about a month, were taken to the hospital after the attack.
The group says that the attack is just the latest incidence of disrespect and bullying of Africans since the outbreak of Ebola in West Africa…
Senegal is one of several West African countries where Ebola cases have been reported, but there have been no new cases in that country since late August, according to the CDC.[su_csky_ad]

I’m surprised that they even know where Africa is

The sad thing is… they probably don’t even know where Africa is. They just know “Africa = Uncivilized country.” (I know it’s a continent, but they think it’s a country.)

This was inevitable, unfortunately.

The misinformation and scare tactics have driven this to unbelievable levels. I remember when cancer was a disease people were often became social outcast for having, and as people saw friends and family get it, they started to change their views. The rumors and crazy ideas of how one got cancer started to change, but the damage was done because many died as their needs were drowned in a sea of stupidity.
Just Saturday I had a right wing family member tell me there were thousands of cases of Ebola among children in the USA that went unreported and the CDC was covering it up. He said it was coming in through the Southern Border and we were going to reach dangerous levels before the CDC would admit to it. He also commended on how voter ID would help clean up our elections and Government can not do anything right except military.
Obviously he is a victim of the right wing propaganda, while smart in several areas, politically he is brain-washed beyond any help. It is the state of our nation at this time and truly scary when even some on the left, like Bill Maher, starts sounding like Fox News propagandist.

The Dangerous Myth of America’s Ebola Panic
In reality, twice as many Americans believe in witches as
are afraid of Ebola. At what point does the media’s coverage of the country’s
“overreaction” to the virus become another overreaction? http://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2014/10/twice-as-many-americans-believe-in-witches-as-are-afraid-of-ebola/381682/
Ebola: A crash course in fear and how it hurts us— Ebola is
giving Americans a crash course in fear. Yet, they’re incredibly less likely to
get the disease than to get sick worrying about it. First, the reality check:

That’s it–make us proud to be Americans…
Seriously, what the hell is wrong with people! This reminds me of the Salem witch hunts.

The father asked where are the adults? He does not blame the kids who attacked his sons. When I look a the various federal and states befuddled and muddled responses we can probably expect to see more panic reactions, and not just from schoolboys on the playground. Nurse Kaci Hickox is the most recent example of this Ebola Fiasco. She has gone from quarantine in New Jersey to quarantine in Maine where she has now gone into seclusion!? How does that work?
