Members of Moms Demand Action along with founder Shannon Watts rallied outside of Kroger’s investor relations meeting today and a few interesting things took place. The ladies went armed with their First Amendment rights.

To the Open Carry folks: That’s the amendment right before the Second one.

A fearless patriot and his liberty lovin’ friends also attended to thank Kroger for supporting their “Second Ammendmeent rights.” [sic]

Of course, he was photobombed by an awesome Moms Demand Action member.

[su_center_ad]The Investor Relations Meeting was scheduled to take place at the Marriott in Cincinnati (the location is actually in Kentucky).

The night before the meeting, while it was still dark out,  all of the executives/investors appeared with their suitcases in the lobby and started loading onto buses.

The images across the bottom are of the executives on hand to speak to investors. (A group which that includes three guys named Mike).

Moms Demand Action were scheduled to hold a press conference outside of the hotel but moved with them to their new location (Northern Kentucky University).

MikeBus

With this move, the Kroger Executives (we shall call them Mike, Inc) tried and failed to avoid the gun sense group but they did manage to escape to an area that doesn’t allow the open carry of guns.

My source made a quick call and found that the campus forbids open or the concealed carry of firearms unless you’re a law enforcement official.

When the three Kroger “supporters” arrived, they held their misspelled sign. A fourth Open Carry activist arrived with gun in hand but was stopped at his car by a police officer and turned away.

On Tuesday, when the radio ads began, one of the execs heard it then quickly called Clear Channel and they pulled the ads.

The message received stated,  “The only way we can run this in any market is if Kroger or any other business is not specifically mentioned. Can you do something more generic? We would still love to run something.”

Kroger, if you’re concerned about your safety, imagine how we feel when we’re trying to shop and spend our delicious dollars in your stores, then run into a gang of white guys marching down the produce aisle.

Put your big girl pants on Kroger. The executives managed to distance themselves from the same armed gangs of men they allow to march in their stores.

Ads pointing out the store’s hypocrisy frightened them so much that it was yanked off the air.

Big thanks to my source. You rock. [su_csky_ad]

Damn it, I demand that every protest group in existence hire one person, just one, to proofread signs prior to any demonstration.

    • m2old4bs October 29th, 2014 at 4:16 pm

      They can’t afford it.

    • mea_mark October 29th, 2014 at 4:29 pm

They couldn’t find any pruffredders in the phone-book.

      • R.J. Carter October 29th, 2014 at 4:41 pm

Somewhere, on an old disc (probably a 3.5″ floppy) I have an image of a newspaper ad looking for “profreader.”

        • Anomaly 100 October 29th, 2014 at 7:14 pm

Saw a sign on a busy corner just after I moved here. It said, “Hiring tecnicians”

          • R.J. Carter October 30th, 2014 at 8:55 am

Back before we had ubiquitous cameras, I pulled into a spot where there was a state-made metal stamped sign: “No Parking. Strickly Enforced.”

          • Anomaly 100 October 30th, 2014 at 9:02 am

            Love it!

      • M D Reese October 29th, 2014 at 5:52 pm

They also haven’t figured out what that squiggly red line means under words when you type on the interwebs…

        • R.J. Carter October 29th, 2014 at 5:56 pm

I’ve trained myself to ignore those. I type so much straight HTML that I get entire pages of red squiggles.

        • mea_mark October 29th, 2014 at 6:32 pm

If they knew that it meant their computer was infected with ebola they would totally freak out. Let’s hope they never find out.

          • M D Reese October 29th, 2014 at 7:04 pm

OK–I SURE WON’T TELL THEM…IT’LL BE OUR LITTLE SECRET! (heehee)

    • Chinese Democracy October 29th, 2014 at 4:37 pm

      lol agreed

      • M D Reese October 29th, 2014 at 5:51 pm

I’m surprised he spelled “USA” correctly.

        • Chinese Democracy October 29th, 2014 at 7:33 pm

lol .. he may have guessed

          • M D Reese October 29th, 2014 at 8:21 pm

Probably. After all, it’s not spelled like it sounds…

  2. Red Eye Robot October 29th, 2014 at 3:58 pm

So basically Fascist Moms Demand Action lost another round.

    • Anomaly 100 October 29th, 2014 at 4:00 pm

      Stop doing that please. Thanks!

      • R.J. Carter October 29th, 2014 at 5:56 pm

And stop flagging her comments, too. It doesn’t work that way.

        • Anomaly 100 October 29th, 2014 at 6:11 pm

          I got flagged? Yay!!

          • tiredoftea October 29th, 2014 at 6:42 pm

Yeah, I was thinking of deleting your comment, but…

          • Anomaly 100 October 29th, 2014 at 6:45 pm

            Oh, YOU!

Admit it. You flagged my comment.

          • tiredoftea October 29th, 2014 at 6:47 pm

Not me! But, I did approve it only after considerable thought.

          • Anomaly 100 October 29th, 2014 at 7:14 pm

I wouldn’t want to approve my comments either.

          • Chinese Democracy October 29th, 2014 at 7:36 pm

I knew it would happen sooner or later.. heh

          • Anomaly 100 October 29th, 2014 at 8:12 pm

Mark *might* have more flagged comments than I do. We’re having a competition. I think he cheats, though.

          • mea_mark October 29th, 2014 at 8:34 pm

Yeah, I ban the stalker trolls. That is how you get the most flags.

    • jasperjava October 29th, 2014 at 4:06 pm

The only fascists around here are heavily armed ideological fanatics who want to impose their values on everyone else through force of arms, death threats and intimidation.

      • Chinese Democracy October 29th, 2014 at 4:31 pm

Sheriff Joe Arpaio comes to mind

      • M D Reese October 29th, 2014 at 5:50 pm

I can only protest the use of the word “values” when talking about these asshats.

      • Red Eye Robot October 29th, 2014 at 6:21 pm

Nobody wants to force you to carry a gun at Kroger, On the other hand Fascist Moms Demand Action does wish to force their values on gun owners

        • mea_mark October 29th, 2014 at 6:23 pm

Do you want to be banned? You were asked to stop calling Moms Demand Action Fascist. You are on awfully thin ice and about to go.

    • tiredoftea October 29th, 2014 at 4:09 pm

Looks like a win to me. Your buddies either weren’t bright enough to figure out that the cowardly Kroger exec’s moved to avoid the embarrassment of the Mom’s group, or they did show up, all three of them!

      • Red Eye Robot October 29th, 2014 at 6:18 pm

And Kroger changed their policy on open carry in their stores?

        • tiredoftea October 29th, 2014 at 6:41 pm

Sooner than your buddies will learn to spell!

    • m2old4bs October 29th, 2014 at 4:15 pm

      Methinks you are mistaken, again.

      • Anomaly 100 October 29th, 2014 at 4:18 pm

        At least he’s consistent.

        • whatthe46 October 29th, 2014 at 5:05 pm

          you’re so right.

        • M D Reese October 29th, 2014 at 5:49 pm

True that–flagged and bagged. RER must have an alert set so that when gun idiocy is discussed rationally anywhere on the interwebs, they get an email…

      • Red Eye Robot October 29th, 2014 at 6:17 pm

Did Kroger changed their policy and now bans open carry?

        • mea_mark October 29th, 2014 at 6:27 pm

Not yet, I give them a few more days.

    • Chinese Democracy October 29th, 2014 at 4:39 pm

if by losing another round means moved the meeting to a venue that does not allow open carry.. then yeah 🙂

      • whatthe46 October 29th, 2014 at 5:04 pm

        bingo.

Here I been callin’ him Rinse PreWash.

    • Larry Schmitt October 29th, 2014 at 6:57 pm

The definition of fascism: A political theory advocating an authoritarian hierarchical government (as opposed to democracy or liberalism).
So explain how MDA is fascist. We have all night.

so did you forget the O after the second M?
AMMOENDMENT? fits your AMMOSEXUAL personae so well.

smiling i am betting (yes i did live in Las Vegas) if you so politely asked one of those MOM`s for help they, would more then likely show you the correct spelling and maybe just maybe you can get a cookie.

    • R.J. Carter October 29th, 2014 at 5:57 pm

      “personae”

He has more than one of them? o_O

  4. annaaurora October 29th, 2014 at 5:21 pm

Uuggh corporate white male executives, one is even wearing a mustard jacket. I am so depressed. They don’t even go to a fancy hotel, you’d think the NRA could splurge one for them. I guess Pansies with Cadillac’s don’t know the difference. Yeah Zig Ziglar. Ooops no mustard, must have been reliving past sales nightmares.

  5. M D Reese October 29th, 2014 at 5:46 pm

This reminds me of the Supreme court striking down modest safety zones for women’s health clinics yet leaving intact their own very generous safety zone in and around the Supreme Court.

  6. fancypants October 29th, 2014 at 5:50 pm

No machine guns allowed and they still cant take a hint

  7. searambler October 29th, 2014 at 8:10 pm

Bunch of cowardly middle aged white guys. (Describes both the open carry yahoos and the Kroger execs.)

  8. My2Bits October 30th, 2014 at 3:15 am

Wow. You people are not very bright. Who has a shareholder meeting for a billion dollar company at a hotel? And now there is a conspiracy of removing a radio commercial? And then the 300k signatures? Are those the same 300k signatures they already printed out on neat little postcards and gave to stores last month?

All for what? Go to the MomsDemand headliner facebook page and flyers and you will see a photo of an open carry person from over a year ago. Over a year! Read the comments and they all sound like every grocery store has turned into a borderline Mad-Max remake.

Maybe people are just getting tired of it all now that this ‘gun-sense’ has become “non-sense’ and the over-the-top hysteria. I know I am. No more support from me. Good for the Kroger executives, the company has been doing outstanding this year.

  9. rg9rts October 30th, 2014 at 6:41 am

What is Kroger afraid of ???They are reaping what they have sown and what they force every shopper to face.

  10. Warman1138 October 30th, 2014 at 6:58 am

I didn’t know that shopping for groceries was so dangerous that one had to be armed.
