Eric Frein’s Letter To ‘Mom And Dad’ Brings More Terrorism Charges
Eric Frein, the survivalist charged with shooting two Pennsylvania state troopers after a 48 day manhunt consisting of up to 1,000 officers at one time, told police after his capture that he ambushed the men because he “wanted to make a change” in government and “wake people up.” One of those officers died as a result of the shooting.
[su_center_ad]Frein’s motive for the sniper attack outside the Blooming Grove barracks during a late-night shift change on Sept. 12th was revealed in court papers filed on Thursday in which prosecutors added two counts of terrorism to the criminal complaint against him, Reuters reports.
The new charges accuse Frein, 31, of killing Corporal Bryon Dickson, 38, and wounding Trooper Alex Douglass, 31, with the purpose of influencing the policy of government.
Frein has been held without bail on first-degree murder and related charges since his capture on Oct. 30th.
His letter addressed to “Mom and Dad” was found during a search of his computer.
ABC reports:
“I am sorry,” the letter read, in part. “You guys are great parents, I am just not a good son. I squandered so much opportunity and support and rarely tried my best at anything.”
The letter appears to have been written in December of last year and amended in October of this year during the 48-day manhunt for the suspect, officials said.
“Our nation is far from what it was and what it should be,” it read. “I have seen so many depressing changes made in my time that I cannot imagine what it must be like for you. There is so much wrong and on so many levels only passing through the crucible of another revolution can get us back the liberties we once had. I do not pretend to know what the revolution will look like or even if it would be successful.
“Tension is high at the moment and the time seems right for a spark to ignite a fire in the hearts of men. What I have done has not been done before and it felt like it was worth a try.”
Based on the letter calling for revolution, prosecutors said his alleged shooting of two state troopers was “intending to influence the policy of government.”
The letter ends, “I love you. Please forgive me of my many faults. And thanks for putting up with me for so long.”
The threat of domestic terrorism has sadly gone unnoticed by the right wing media. It doesn’t fit into their paradigm. But if Frein was a Muslim, the outrage would be deafening. [su_csky_ad]

Thanks TOPers and GOP, for whipping up those RWNJs into a frenzy of murder.

Oh, Tommy…for SHAME! Such accusations!
None of those people EVER advocated specifically the killing of Corporal Dickson, or the wounding of Trooper Douglas…
Go on…show us where they did!
(/s, in case you missed it…)

It was only a few days ago when I read a post here calling for the killing of one of those crazies they highlight in the Religion forum. No one but me objected to that sort of rhetoric. It is also acceptable by many here to call for people to be kicked out of the country, as if ethnic cleansing is the answer to kooks whose views we object to.

Go to Breitbart.
Read some comments.
Come back and try to say that again without realizing how stupid it sounds.

Sounds just like a typical Tea-party speech.

Another ‘law abiding gun owning citizen’..
Until he decided to become a cop killer.
Just like so many other killers with guns.

If he’s guilty I hope he spends the rest of his days as a guest of the state, making little ones out of big ones.
