Kansas Secretary Of State Worries Immigration Reform Will Lead To Ethnic Cleansing
[su_right_ad]Kris Kobach, the Republican Secretary of State in Kansas, is worried that Hispanics will take over America and ethnically cleanse whites. Kobach was responding to a caller to his radio show who asked, “What happens, if you know your history, when one culture or one race or one religion overwhelms another culture or race?”
Claiming that immigrant rights groups are “calling for the return of the Spanish territory, which could be almost half of the United States,” the caller warned, “When one race or culture overwhelms another culture, they run them out or they kill them. And it’s a bigger issue than just being Democrats. And they know in numbers, once the numbers are so bad, they can pretty much do whatever they want to do.”
“What protects us in America from any kind of ethnic cleansing is the rule of law, of course,” Kobach responded. “And the rule of law used to be unassailable, used to be taken for granted in America. And now, of course, we have a president who disregards the law when it suits his interests. So, while I normally would answer that by saying, ‘Steve, of course we have the rule of law, that could never happen in America,’ I wonder what could happen. I still don’t think it’s going to happen in America, but I have to admit, things are strange and they are happening.”

I didn’t hear this Koback fellow actually “wonder” about ethnic cleansing, instead – around 60 seconds in – he creates a distorted metaphor about how “rule of law” protects us from it. Still it’s all race-baiting nonsense intended to support a corrupt political establishment. But even worse, it further obscures the real social and economic conditions that drives tens of thousands of people, mostly poor women and children, from their homelands and families.
Even though Obama’s actions are well intended, long overdue, and the whole “Felons not Families” meme very clever, the sad fact is the mass deportation of convicted, often violent, felons to places like Honduras and El Salvador will continue to have serious consequences affecting the US Mexican Border, southern Mexico and most of Central America. Most of these guys are in the drug trade and are return visitors often making the journey several times a year.
In the long term it would probably be cheaper and safer to keep the violent ones from Central America in a well-secured American prison and try to rehabilitate them before sending them home. That there needs to be coordination and cooperation with all parties is clear. We all should understand the Mexican drug cartels can be just as brutal, bloodthirsty and efficient as the Islamic State. The cartels depend on these young men to run the distribution-retail side of the drug and people smuggling. Unfortunately, there appears no shortage of an available work force where unemployment among young men is sky high and cartel recruiting methods can be very convincing.

I’m pretty sure he doesn’t understand the definition of ethnic cleansing. I’m thinking now would be a good time to resign his position and go back to school. Kansas has a number of good colleges in spite of the Republican’s effect on education in the state.
