15-Year-Old Girl Punched In Face, Put In Choke Hold By Cop Yells ‘I Can’t Breathe’
[su_right_ad]Cell phone footage shows a Meza, AZ police officer punching a 15-year-old girl in the face and putting her in a choke hold.
Luis Paul Santiago, who recorded the incident as he was driving past, posted the footage on Facebook on Friday and it has since been shared more than 1.8 million times.
Along with the 70 second clip, Santiago posted an explanation that the girl was an ’emotionally unstable’ runaway.
The footage starts with the teen screaming as the officer hits her twice around the head.
Quickly the girl is put in a choke-hold and can be heard yelling ‘I can’t breathe’, as another cop appears.
A woman, who identifies herself as the victim’s mother, then begs with the cops to let her daughter go.
The Free Thought Project, which linked to the video, says the girl’s mother ‘attempted to explain to the officers that she has mental problems as well as asthma.’
According to Santiago, the police tried to delete his video but were unsuccessful.

Off topic, but I clicked on the first link in the story, which took me to Daily Mail. There was a story about the Obamas hosting the Kennedy Center awards. Stupid me, I couldn’t resist reading some comments. Ugh!! The usual Michelle bashing, along with mocking the President’s sore throat and his going to the hospital.(which was for a CAT scan his doctor ordered due to a two-week throat. He didn’t run to the hospital because he woke up with a sore throat. They don’t perform CAT scans at the White House.) I went through and downvoted a few. You wouldn’t believe the upvotes! Again- disgusting.

The justice department needs to investigate police and sheriff departments nationwide (especially the ones that have a history of incidents like this or worse). This has got to start immediately. Heads need to roll meaning firings, arrests, convictions and jail time for the culprits. Time to put cops under the microscope. Public awareness of what’s going on around them and videoing such incidents need to increase. Cops need to be held accountable for their actions and this needs to start NOW not later…

A lot of theses cops are Iraq and Afghan war veterans…
It appears they believe they can treat U.S. citizens in the same manner as they treated people over there.

Here’s a website for vets to transition into civilian police forces. I wonder if screening for mental issues before hand would keep some of these over eager cops from even being hired.

The thing is, if I were the parent standing there, I wouldn’t be asking to please stop….I would be the one getting beaten and arrested because nobody does that to my kid….
