Angelina Jolie is not highly regarded by producer Scott Rudin, as can be seen in terse email exchanges with Sony head Amy Pascal. Jolie’s focus on wanting the unavailable director David Fincher appears to be driving Rudin crazy.

While Jolie spent 2014 fretting about the script—was she the focus and the prime mover? Did it need a romantic relationship? Would she still be regal enough if she played it bald?—one-on-one correspondence between Pascal and Rudin shows off their behind-the-scenes sniping, scheming, and eye-rolling. Rudin in particular would apparently rather die by self-inflicted asp wound than make another Jolie film: “She’s seriously out of her mind,” he eventually writes Pascal, exasperated.

Meanwhile, Jolie’s single-minded focus on Fincher as her director of choice for the project—and Pascal’s inability to manage the hilariously ill-mannered Rudin, who also wanted Fincher—became a serious pressure point for all three. It’s this friction that would eventually scuttle what could have been a fantastic version of Jobs.[su_csky_ad]

Any media outlet or internet site that publishes anything from the Sony leaks is playing into North Korea’s hands.

Don’t care who else does it. No one should have published any thing from the moment it was suspected North Korea was behind it.

ps…It’s clear North Korea doesn’t have the expertise to pull this off by themselves. Doubt any other nation would have helped them, so that means they hired one or more individuals with the promise of big money. If they did the programming in North Korea, are they dumb enough to believe that they’d get out of there alive?

Some are suggesting China has a hand in this. I would have to agree it is someone bigger than North Korea who has their hand in this.

Naw…don’t think China would f*ck around with us that way. 50+ years ago yes, but now they have too much to loose.

Hell, Russians crooks hack into credit card data bases all the time. How hard could it be to get onto Sony’s?

Pretty sure its the North Koreans . heard the analogy from someone familiar with the tracking of the hackers…they are like drunken burglars knocking over a vase after breaking in and saying shhhhhhh

      Good call.
They had to have hired some punk Western hackers who would be able to sift out the “shocking!” stuff for them…..

I think publishing illegally hacked private e-mails, text messages, nude photos, or phone calls is wrong period. The media should have more respect for the privacy rights of all people.

      I agree.
      That goes for Anonymous, too.

All of Hollywood are nuts…and I have it from a reliable source, they are all 5′- 4″ tall.

after reading the emails I think this has all to do with nothing. There have been several films in the past that were controversial to say the least and would have better email arguments then this

      Well said.

    Not bothering with the emails.
    I like Angelina Jolie.
Yesterday I heard a really nice interview with her on NPR about her upcoming movie, “Unbroken.”

Angelina, with all these threats to Sony coming out now and all, if you need a place to hide out for a while, I’ll be glad to put you up at my place. Just don’t bring that Pitt guy along, that’s all I ask………..
