Yemen al Qaeda Claim Responsibility Claiming ‘Revenge’
An al Qaeda Yemen member says the group is responsible for the Charlie Hebdo killings as “revenge for the honor” of Prophet Muhammad.
AP and The Intercept quoted a statement sent to them by a source within Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), commonly referred to as Al-Qaeda in Yemen.
The statement, provided on condition of anonymity, says “the leadership of AQAP directed the operations and they have chosen their target carefully as a revenge for the honor of Prophet [Muhammad].” It directly refers to the Wednesday attack on French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which resulted in 12 people killed.

There are thirteen countries where being an atheist can get you jailed and executed. Afghanistan, Iran, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritania, Nigeria, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
There is some where around 20 countries where apostasy and blasphemy is punished with jail, corporal punishment, and execution. Most of these countries are Muslim majority nations. When the leadership of many Muslim countries believes that violence is an acceptable solution to punish speech they don’t agree with, is it really that surprising that terrorist would use the same methods. That is one of the sources of where terrorists get the idea that they should kill innocent people like charlie hebdo.

The commenters in question proved that it didn’t matter what side of the issue I was on if it did not comport complete agreement with their comments. In one month…, bombs accounted for the most deaths, with 1,653 people killed in 241 explosions. These included 38 suicide blasts, which took 650 lives and 128 other bombs, such as improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which killed 555.
