Miss Lebanon Slammed For Selfie With Miss Israel
Now Miss Lebanon, Saly Greige, is claiming that she didn’t want Miss Israel in the picture, but that Doron Matalon pushed her way into the photo. She’s worried this will lose her popularity at home.
After Matalon posted the snapshot on her Facebook profile, Lebanese television station Al Jadeed quipped that, since one of her hobbies is reading, she should have read that Lebanon and Israel are enemies.
Greige explained the situation on her Facebook page, saying she had been trying to avoid communicating with and taking a photo with Miss Israel since arriving at the competition, but while she “was having a photo with Miss Japan, Miss Slovenia and myself; suddenly Miss Israel jumped in, took a selfie, and put it on her social media.” Greige said she hoped she would still have the support of the Lebanese people.[su_center_ad]
Now you see her now you don’t! Greige posted a picture without Matalon.
Matalon was less apologetic. She posted an article about the photo and re-posted the photo Sunday, saying the situation “doesn’t surprise me but it still makes me sad.” Matalon said she wished “hostility” could be forgotten for the three-week duration of the competition so that “we can meet girls from around the world and also from the neighboring country.”

How sad that lebenon who is NOT the enemy of Israel would say such things. The southern part is occupied by hamas, their are christian, muslimand secular people in that beautiful country.

If only all the hate seen here was from the Right……………..it’s not, and most seem to go along with it as long as the target is Christians. You get a pass on the Right for hating Muslims and on the Left you get a pass for hating Christians.

Hamas believes in the absolute authority of Islam, and they are enemies of Israel. Hamas does not occupy southern Lebanon. There are Palestinian camps there, but no occupiers. Hezbollah (Shi’a) controls southern Lebanon, and they definitely are enemies of Israel – see the 2006 war. I travel to beautiful Lebanon frequently (leaving next Sunday for Beirut) as I own a business there, So, it is beautiful, and the food is wonderful, but the sad fact is that Lebanon and Israel are enemies. That said, it’s too bad the young women featured here can’t be friends without worrying about how they will be viewed at home.

Hezbollah has been the enemy of Israel since it was founded by Iran.
Hezbollah was formed to eliminate Western and Israeli influence in Lebanon, establish an Islamic state there and to destroy of Israel. From the beginning Pasdaran (Iranian Revolutionary Guards) were sent to Lebanon to carry out these objectives.

We have a summer camp up here for kids from these countries. the kids come and have a great time with each other. I just wished we tried to foster more peace and understanding. Everyone has past “indiscretions “, if you will, but at some point …. You gotta let it go and start new. Kids learn by our example and we’re failing them. Sad really.

These things are supposed to be opportunities where such divisions are set aside and the point made that we all live on planet earth together and must find ways to get past what divides us.
Hate to say it, but the Israeli gal may need to lie and confirm what the Lebanese gal said. After all, in that part of the world they’re just looking for reasons to chop heads off and Lebanon is overrun with that sort of armed crazies…..

Perhaps if it were the Nazis who r long gone, that could be forgotten. But I don’t think this would be your stance if the Nazis were still alive today and were at war over land, killing dozens of people everyday and still more are dying. So how could you forget all of it when those people are still dying today? Are you that heartless? [i.e. Israel-Palestine situation]

While the Nazis are no longer in power, a small Nazi rabble has persisted and they find common ground with Jew-haters who likewise have always been around.
The irrational hatred of Jews is a sickness, and there will probably always be people who hate them just as there will probably always be racists.
That kind of hate eats the person up from the inside out, like a cancer.
A couple decades ago I had me some fun with a Nazi here in town. A friend told me about this clown and it was hard to believe what I was hearing. It was like a time warp where I was reading Richard Hotelet and William Shirer when their columns were hot off the press.
So this guy was working in a small retail shop in town. I walked in there with one of my buddies, who wasn’t in on what I had in mind. We were just walking downtown when I guided us into this little store and as we were coming through the door I was in the middle of a sentence saying what losers the Nazis were and are.
I’d never seen the Nazi working there before, but there was no mistaking him. Bleach-blonde hair cut and worn just like Hitler himself. I just ignored him and continued in conversation, loudly about he us and the Brits and the Soviets beat the hell out of the Nazis. I was going off on how the master race got they ass handed to them by the mongrels and how stupid they were from the beginning to the end. I got to talking about Stalingrad and the ignominous surrenders elsewhere to support a conclusion they were a bunch of cowards when it came to push and shove.
Yeah, I had some fun with that guy. You shoulda seen the hate in his eyes when I got up to the register, being all jolly. I think I bought a pack of gum or something.
