Jim Bakker: Christians In America Are Like Jews In Nazi Germany
Jim Bakker was talking with Mike Huckabee who is promoting his book, God, Guns, Grits and Gravy. I wonder if it ever occurs to these people that they might be exaggerating.
Huckabee pointed to Phil Robertson’s temporary suspension from “Duck Dynasty” following his notorious comments about homosexuality and Jim Crow as proof that Christians are now victims of intolerance. Bakker is so worried about anti-Christian animus that he even tied the plight of Christians in America to Nazi Germany’s anti-Jewish persecution: “If we all took a stand just like the Robertson family did, they can’t put us all in jail at the same time, unless they did something like they did to the Jews.” [su_center_ad]

If it were only possible for fringe crazies to be like Jews from Nazi Germany. Effing idiot.
granpa.usthai January 21st, 2015 at 12:37 am
Most German Jews spoke with a heavy German accent.
tiredoftea January 21st, 2015 at 12:43 am
While speaking German and being the object of oppression and mass murder. American fringe christians, not so much.

The insanity of it all is the way some people think this way and really believe they are being rational and logical.
They suspend all judgment easily and will think things like that without a thought and will even argue with you over it!
Liberaland used to be a place where serious issues of the day were discussed by serious, well-informed people with sense, regardless of whether they agreed.
jasperjava January 21st, 2015 at 7:38 pm
I see you failed to get grandpa’s snarky.
burqa January 21st, 2015 at 8:46 pm
I didn’t look at it. For the most part I skip over his posts.
bluejayray January 20th, 2015 at 10:42 pm
Yeah–not putting up with delusional bigots is JUST LIKE the nazis…Where do these fools get this stuff?
I thought Jimmy Bakker died in prison.
granpa.usthai January 21st, 2015 at 12:47 am

pinballsdoll January 21st, 2015 at 6:01 pm

William January 20th, 2015 at 10:47 pm
Oh ..other than rounding up and murdering 6 million people it’s just like Nazi Germany.
granpa.usthai January 21st, 2015 at 12:36 am
maybe they feel like they are being murdered? -what with a POTUS from the islands and not a mainlander like them?
Bunya January 22nd, 2015 at 3:11 pm
Yeah well, last I checked, KENYA is NOT an island!
burqa January 21st, 2015 at 4:13 am
Some people see no difference. As I just noted below, nowadays we got people out here who don’t see any difference.
Somehow they are able to suspend all rational judgment and sense of proportion, as you point out.
The bad news is these people can vote and I’m gonna have to depend on these people for my Social Security….
Suzanne McFly January 20th, 2015 at 10:47 pm
Again proving stupidity knows no bounds.
Foundryman January 20th, 2015 at 11:01 pm
Funny, I haven’t noticed anyone walking around with a cross sewn to their coats…I wonder where they are being loaded and taken to, how many trains have been commissioned? The camps must be huge…..How did Jim Bakker escape???
granpa.usthai January 21st, 2015 at 12:29 am
uh, the camp isn’t very large at all. Only ‘true’ Christians (those who WILL NOT wear mixed fibers) are to be sent there when/if found.
Foundryman January 21st, 2015 at 1:12 am
You’re right…only true Christians…probably enough to fill a room at motel 6.
burqa January 21st, 2015 at 4:10 am
Define “true Christian.”
Foundryman January 21st, 2015 at 10:02 am
It’s certainly not Jim Bakker…
burqa January 21st, 2015 at 8:55 pm
There aren’t any. The expression doesn’t occur in the Bible and the faith recognizes members as flawed humans who screw things up. Indeed, in the part of the Bible where our doctrine is, probably 80% of it is reproof and correction of errroneous beliefs and practices.
We’re subject to human nature just like everyone else and among us are believers who have done some pretty awful things.
One of the aspects of Christianity is to recognize our flaws within us, to seek forgiveness and to change for the better. It’s a huge topic, and it leads us to forgive others more and more as we realize what we’ve been forgiven for. So not only do we walk away from where we screwed up and become better that way, we also extend more and more that forgiveness to others, becoming better in that way as well.
We’re all at different places on the road and of course we sometimes take longer than we should to learn our lesson. Sometimes what is easy for one is difficult for another.
But in all this is that whole turning the other cheek and loving your enemies. Forgiveness is a mighty powerful thing in a person’s life and we try, with varying degrees of success, to get better at it. It’s something e pay a lot of attention to, so that helps. Sometimes I think this topic befuddles others.

The last time I heard anything about Jim Bakker, disco infested our fair land from sea to shining sea and people were going around wearing platform shoes.
Dcbos January 20th, 2015 at 11:02 pm
A true Fraud With papers to prove it; convicted of several counts of fraud; sentenced to 45 years ,vacated on appeal because of his whining and his late wife’s distress but guilty as sin paying 500,000 in fines.
fahvel January 21st, 2015 at 1:25 am
and all 500k ripped from the saved souls – slime.
granpa.usthai January 21st, 2015 at 12:33 am
Jews weren’t allowed to assemble for worship of their God like churchgoers are when they put on their weekly fashion show.
burqa January 21st, 2015 at 1:44 am
So the takeaway here is that Jim Bakker is a kook.
I knew that back……oh hell, it’s tough to say…….it was either in the first Reagan term or when Carter was in office…….
You’re really grasping on this one, Alan.
burqa January 21st, 2015 at 1:48 am
Yeah, you’re right.
No one dislikes Christians, much less has a pathological hatred of them.
Nope, human nature in this case makes an exception. Every other group that achieves prominence generates enemies …….. but not Christians.
Nope, never happens.
Good call.
ExPFCWintergreen January 21st, 2015 at 1:48 am
Yeah, I think that’s Huckabee on the top bunk there
rg9rts January 21st, 2015 at 3:32 am
It’s all about the money …Right Jimbo??
allison1050 January 21st, 2015 at 6:15 am
..insert eye roll here.
Budda January 21st, 2015 at 8:05 am
“Christians are now victims of intolerance.”….no Jim, Stupid people who claim to be Xtians might be shunned, sort of like people that don’t bath.
Carla Akins January 21st, 2015 at 8:53 am
I’m sorry; Mike Hickabee, Jim Bakker and Phil Robertson? Is it too early to drink at work this miorning?
alpacadaddy January 21st, 2015 at 12:41 pm
Yeah, I know. The elder snake-oil salesman of the far-right, spewing hateful, divisive lies cloaked in a transparent veil of pious, self-righteous, imaginary persecution. The real victims here are the misguided dim-bulbs who subscribe to their blather and whose money keeps these shyster’s afloat!
Bunya January 21st, 2015 at 10:09 am
Especially since 33% of the world is Christian, I find it amusing they compare themselves to the Jews of Nazi Germany. Not only is that a slap in the face to Jews who actually survived the holocaust, but I don’t recall anybody torturing and slaughtering Christians by the thousands.
Bunya January 21st, 2015 at 2:00 pm
I’m old enough to remember the war between the televangelists and, if I remember correctly, Jim Bakker was the first to fall. I would think because of the beating he took back then, he’d come back a bit wiser, more culpable. He disappoints me. I suppose Christians find it’s much easier to play the perpetual victim than to rise above the herd.
illinoisboy1977 January 21st, 2015 at 5:05 pm
“If we all took a stand just like the Robertson family did, they can’t put us all in jail at the same time, unless they did something like they did to the Jews.”
Ummm… Jim? I don’t think they’ve thrown ANYONE in jail, for their opinions. Regardless of how offensive people find an opinon, you CAN’T be jailed for it, in this country. You CAN, however, lose your job. If your opinion threatens your employer’s ability to make money, said employer is well within its rights to sever ties, temporarily or permanently, in order to preserve its profitabilty.
fancypants January 21st, 2015 at 8:22 pm
it must have been music to mike’s ears to hear this kind of talk
