  2. EnuffBull January 26th, 2015 at 3:44 pm

Yes, get they closer to the snipers in the church bell towers. (See what I did there?)

  3. bpollen January 26th, 2015 at 3:44 pm

Huck, you DO realize that you would then have to provide chapel services for Wicca, Islam, Sikhism, Taoism, Buddhism, Satanism, Bahai, Shinto, Vodun, Mormonism, Scientologisty, Jainism, Druidism, Judaism, the religions of the various indigenous people who were here before whitey, and, according to what you claim you will do as president, “secular theocracy.” And that is just a partial list.

Then we can get into some other issues. like that Constitution you like only when it conforms to your worldview (or the view of those you are pandering to,) and find the space and time to have chapel for a dozen religions or more, vetting any person playing the role of clergy in chapel, paying for it (schools can’t) and still actually having time for lunch and recess and teaching little Hucks to read. And then you have to have the option of NOT going to chapel for those who don’t want religion in public schools, some way of telling who does and doesn’t go to chapel, some mechanism for those students who have an epiphany and decide that they no longer are beliebers,

You can bet the farm that money for the indoctrination will be there, regardless of what other funding gets cut.

      • bpollen January 27th, 2015 at 3:12 am

It would have to come from private funds. The government couldn’t fund it. There are a whole bunch of people who would take umbrage of government funded religious instruction. But don’t think it will just be liberals or dems or the left. The Republicans and the Tea Party and the conservatives would absolutely plotz when they learned it would include non-christian brainwashing.

The old secular theocracy argument….Isn’t calling Atheism a theocracy or religion like saying not collecting stamps is a hobby…?
It’s actually an oxymoron, HuckaJebus is just a moron.

      • bpollen January 27th, 2015 at 3:06 am

I don’t think atheism is a religion. Hell, I don’t think Buddhism is a religion (but it IS one fine philosophy.) But all the little Huck-a-Maniacs need to use subterfuge and sleight of hand and false equivalencies and the ol’ martyrdom two-step. Or, to put it another way, they are in the “baffle ’em with bullshit” stage.

          I call it linguistic legerdemain…

The track record of religion in school as a solution to social ills contradicts Mr. Huckabee.

We had school prayer up through the early 1960’s. Didn’t do a thing to get rid of Jim Crow segregation.

As long as they’re armed, let’s just teach them to be christian soldiers, marching as if to war. The enemy has already been set up for the job.

  6. Dwendt44 January 26th, 2015 at 5:08 pm

Most all schools have a ‘guidance councilor’, larger districts have a physiologist on staff.
Hasn’t mattered much overall. As most gun violence in or around school districts are perpetrated by christians, the last thing any school district needs is a ‘chapel’ or a ‘chaplain’.

    • tracey marie January 26th, 2015 at 5:56 pm

that could make rape a bigger issue for the young children on campus

  7. Tammy Minton Haley January 26th, 2015 at 6:30 pm

you can have all the religion you want in your privately-funded, no-tax-money-to-you school, mike…

that’s how our system works–might need to know that…you know, what with the whole “wanting to be President” thing…

  8. Jake January 26th, 2015 at 6:41 pm

So not content with violently raping little children, the Christians now want the right to indoctrinate them first.

    TAX the CHURCHES!

  9. Booya Bible January 26th, 2015 at 9:06 pm

If your church doesn’t stop child rapes not sure how it’s going to stop child murders.

  10. William January 26th, 2015 at 9:11 pm

The very notion that this insane sack of theoretical bullsh*t could ever aspire to the presidency scares me. Fortunately that can never happen.

we should send our investigator immediately to get the facts

  11. Mike January 27th, 2015 at 12:44 am

I’m an Atheist but I feel sorry for real Christians that have to endure the indignity of this Klown claiming he’s one of them. Am I the only one who sees his campaign is based solely on making outrageous statements, raising funds, and then dispersing them to his family…? Surely others must see through this facade.
Most 8th graders could tell you about the separation of church/state and why it’s a good thing, yet the huckster double’s down on stupid tossing bits of red meat to his hungry constituents…all for some dog and pony show.
He’s a skidmark you can’t wash away no matter how much bleach you use.

End CPAC waste by eliminating huckleberry from the presidential race

  13. Um Cara January 27th, 2015 at 11:10 am

His idea is as ridiculous, stupid, and outrageous as many of the comments below

  14. Bar Baxter January 27th, 2015 at 9:37 pm

Mike “Nugent” Huckabee is not qualified to hold any public office.
He actually thinks reading the Bible belongs in public schools.
He believes prayers (several) belong in public schools.
He believes Gideon Bibles should be distributed in public schools.

The meanest people I know are Huckabee, Nugent and all the other right-wing fundamentalists who think like that–and who want their beliefs force-fed to our children.
The damage they ENJOY inflicting on innocent children and other bystanders is mind-boggling.

This will go over all their heads, but there is a REASON prayers and Bibles were removed from public schools: a little thing called the Constitution of the United States.

The ONLY difference in these home-grown “religious” people and the radical Muslims throughout the world is that, with the exception of the abortion doctors and a few others they have gunned down, the radical Christians here have not yet made as many inroads into killing people they don’t like.
If there is a God, why doesn’t he protect us from such creatures?

  15. Bunya January 28th, 2015 at 6:22 pm

Now THERE’s an idea! Let psychotics and the unstable purchase their firearms (as is their constitutional right) and pray they won’t use them to kill anybody.
