‘You Were Defeated By Your Own Caucus. What Happened?’
[su_thin_right_skyscraper_ad]Congressman Steve Scalese was asked by Chris Wallace to address the “humiliating defeat” Republicans suffered Friday.
“It’s your job to put the best face on things, but people are talking about what happened Friday night as a ‘humiliating defeat,’” Wallace said. “You were defeated by your own caucus. What happened?”
“Our members have a lot of differences on how we go about tactics, but our goal is the same…and we’re now in the position to force the Senate to go to conference committee, which was what we wanted to do all along,” Scalise said, causing Wallace to remind him Senate Democrats would block that measure, and the whole thing started all over again.
Wallace also asked about rumors that the conservative caucus that killed last week’s bill was plotting a coup against House Speaker John Boehner. “Obviously he’s speaker, he’s going forward, and he’s working hard to get our agenda moved through the House,” Scalise said.

Republicans keep saying, “the presidents illegal actions”…
Yet his actions on immigration are well within the scope of Presidential powers, and have not, nor will be found to be ‘illegal” in any manner. (no matter how many times they say it)

Why are Republicans so loathe to admit the obvious? John Boehner is not up to the task of being Speaker of the House.
Regardless of what you think about their politics, a competent Speaker of the House like the late Tip O Neill or Nancy Pelosi or for that matter Newt Gingrich, absolutely does not bring a bill endorsed by majority caucus leadership to the floor unless they are 100% certain they have the votes to pass.
Right wingers can spin this any way they want. The bottom line is that Boehner is an abject failure as the Speaker of the House. The Speaker does not put forth bills that have no chance of passing. That is until John Boehner came along.
