Man Second Amendments His 10-Year-Old Daughter While Cleaning Gun

After a Wisconsin man accidentally shot his 10-year-old daughter while he was cleaning a Springfield .45-caliber handgun at about 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, the Oshkosh Police Department concluded that it was accidental shooting and no charges will be filed.
How nice for the father.
The father and his daughter were in an apartment building, Capt. Cyndi Thaldorf said.
The girl was taken to a local hospital, where she was treated for undisclosed injuries, then later released.

They charge parents for forgetting their children in hot cars. They charge parents when they let their kids walk unsupervised to the park. They charge parents who allow their children to ride in a car without a car seat. The list goes on when parents negligently hurt their children by putting them in harm’s way….but nothing when they negligently shoot them? Ammosexuals rule. Personal responsibility is not part of the second amendment…free rein to hurt as many people as you want.

I am making an educated guess here, but I bet you could beat your kid with a Bible while screaming the Ten Commandments on the steps of a courthouse and you will be deemed as a concerned parent as well.

There are so many shootings like this, I’ll bet that a website could be devoted to it and have several different categories of stupid as well as an up-to-the-minute crawler across the top reporting shootings as they happen. I’ve lost touch–how many Americans are killed each day in “accidental” shootings…I’m guessing between 50-75.

The NRA would never let a website like that be created. Kind of like battery powered cars being forced out by big oil, money is simply the root.

Every day people are maimed and killed on purpose and accident involving guns. I wonder what they think about second amendment rights,the NRA and their corporate backers and rabid politicians and citizens.

Sorry, but any “accidental discharge” that occurs while cleaning, is usually (not always, but usually) a “negligent discharge”. I’m sure the father feels horrible, but what the hell was he doing, trying to clean a gun with a live round in the chamber while a child was standing downrange? I have a bullet resistant work room, where I dismantle and clean all my firearms. I’ve had some pretty stubborn jams to work out and not once, have I ever had an “accidental discharge”. I know how to keep my finger away from the trigger. I also know it’s not a good idea to have children, or anyone else for that matter, standing in front of my weapon’s business end. If I was a prosecutor, I’d charge him with “reckless endangerment” and “child endangerment, resulting in injury”, at the very least.
