On March 25th, Milwaukee-based blogger Claire Van Fossen posted an article on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s website which condemned the repeated incidents of police brutality that the nation has been dealing with. As one might expect when someone, especially a woman, challenges right wing prejudices and power trips, the haters came out of the woodwork and…

David Wendt, is a Lutheran minister…
I’m surprised he didn’t toss in a, (I blame the Jews) comment..
Martin Luther was a rabid anti-Semite..(1543) he wrote The Jews and Their Lies..
Where he described Jews as a ‘brood of vipers’ and suggested the burning of their synagogues, the confiscation of their money, and the burning of their homes..(and other horrible things)..
He was very popular among German Christians for centuries.
Sure Luther did some good work in linguistics by creating a common Germanic language and breaking away from the catholic church…
But…
I wonder if Martin Luther was alive today, if he would be just another right wing extremest hater looking for any excuse to do what other todays right wing extremest are doing.

Martin Luther was the Glenn Beck of his day. Not a nice man by any means.

Schwedler said, “This is a personnel matter for the congregation to deal with.”
No Mr. Schwedler, this is credible threats to commit a felony, e.g. an assault upon the person of Ms. Van Fossen. This is now a matter for the police and courts, not your congregation who elevated this creep in the first place. Your “pastor” can’t hide behind your skirts anymore.

Onalaska, Texas…sigh
mrparker1 April 2nd, 2015 at 1:25 pm
I’m sure you meant Onalaska, Wisconsin.
tracey marie April 2nd, 2015 at 1:26 pm
Did it say that in the article, because Texas also has an Onalaska
Roctuna April 2nd, 2015 at 1:31 pm
It was reported in a Milwaukee paper so it’s pretty certain he’s creeping out women in Wisconsin. I certainly could happen in Texas though.

Claire Van Fossen lives in her own strange little world. I am familiar with her neighborhood, I suggest she start jogging at night- or in daytime for that matter.
Within a few days, she’ll be looking for that concealed weapons permit.

Another example of modern Christian love. I hold out hope that his email was compromised and he is innocent of allegation.

I’m inclined to believe he actually sent the email. If he was hacked and hadn’t actually sent it, there would have been no reason for him to resign.

“We are concerned for the pastor and the congregation,” Schwedler said during an interview
Just like a cult member. Never concerned with the actual victim.
