Anti-Gay Pastor Seems Pro-Gay On Grindr Profile

The Michigan revered was outed by Queerty which has his freshly-deleted profile.
Pastor Matt Makela, a married father of five, reportedly routinely argued gay people should sublimate their same-sex desires—while he was simultaneously chatting up guys on the app.
In the screenshotted messages, published by Queerty, the good rev tells a potential date, “I love making out naked. Oral and massage. And i top. Also love to cuddle.” Meanwhile, publicly, on his now-deleted Facebook page, he compared homosexuality to alcoholism and posited less-than-charitable views about transgender people…
According to Queerty, Makela did confirm the Grindr profile is real but declined to comment beyond that. He’s reportedly resigned from his associate pastor job at St. John’s church.
In the meantime, the church is urging its congregation not to read or turn on the television so that they might avoid inadvertently discovering what happened to that nice pastor man.

This is what’s called typical republican “family values”. Why, I remember when Newt “family values guy” Gingrich chastised Bill Clinton for being “morally bankrupt” while he, himself, was having an extra-marital affair.

I remember. I also remember that, since her faith was so important to her and she had to get married in the Catholic church, Newt had to get baptized and change religions. Now, divorce is generally frowned upon in the Catholic church, but since Newt had tons of money and a lot of notoriety, the Catholic church made an exception – something they wouldn’t do for someone of lesser importance.

At some point soon it will become widespread conventional wisdom that the most virulent anti-gay activists are closet cases. Maybe that will shut them up (though better if they got their gay act together and just came out).
