A Beautiful Mind Mathematician Killed In Car Accident

John Nash, 86 was killed Saturday night on the New Jersey Turnpike. Also killed was his wife Alicia, 82.
State Police Sgt. Gregory Williams told NJ.com that the taxi driver lost control of his car as he tried to pass another, crashing into a guard rail. The Nashes were reportedly ejected from the car: “It doesn’t appear that they were wearing seatbelts,” Williams said.
The taxi driver was flown to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with non-life-threatening injuries, Williams said, and the passenger in the car the driver had been trying to pass, which also crashed into the guard rail, was treated for neck pain.
Nash, who suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and is best known for his contributions to game theory, won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1994.

The Taxi driver was driving recklessy like he was trying to get away from someone. Who was chasing them and why, is the question. … never mind … rest in peace Nash, you’ve earned it for your contributions to humanity and the world.

So very sad. His life was a lesson for us all, as he overcame great obstacles to bring such knowledge to the world, and not just his mathematical genius, but his struggle to overcome his psychosis.
The film with Russell Crowe as Nash was brilliant, and gave a powerful view of a tortured world lived by a paranoid schizophrenic.
