Jim Bob Duggar had a very different view of incest when he ran the the U.S. Senate in 2002. The God that it is claimed has forgiven son Josh was nowhere in sight when he advocated for the death penalty for incest.
Jim Bob’s platform on his campaign website—preserved via web cache—states that he believes “rape and incest represent heinous crimes and as such should be treated as capital crimes.” Jim Bob offered this belief to explain his position on abortion (only acceptable if both the mother and the baby were going to die anyway, of course):

Either provide a reference to any reputable liberal group who “defended” Roman Polanski or stop lying about what liberals do and do not believe.
While you are at it, why don’t you stop pretending that you care about child abuse as you attempt to rationalize and justify the actions of someone whose political beliefs are similar to yours while you demonize Lena Dunham who happened to be 7 years old at the time.

Talk about pretending to care about child abuse. Liberals like yourself are without concern for the victims in the Duggar case, so long as they can use their pain for political vengeance. The fact that not one of you have called for the cancellation of Lena Dunham’s show, and that you still buy her book, and hold her in high demand in music videos etc proves you accept her predatory past because she’s one of you. As far as Polanski is concerned, if liberals were not okay with his actions, Hollywood(capital of liberal land) would not continue to hold him in such demand and high regard. As your fellow liberal, Whoopi Goldberg, said as she defended his sexual assault of a child. “It’s not like it was rape rape”, suggesting that forced anal rape is somehow less traumatic than old fashioned classic rape.
How about you stop trying to treat a child perving on his siblings as if it is a violent sexual assault, while turning an indifferent shoulder to actually violent sexual offenses by those of similar political leanings.

If I had my way, neither Duggar nor Polanski would be working anywhere at least in the entertainment media. You see I am not a hypocrite like right wingers who criticize the President’s parenting skills because his daughters listen to Beyonce records but leap to the defense of a 14 year old who should have known better and currently presents himself as some sort of moral role model, making no mention of the failings of the Duggar’s parenting.
And as far as this monolithic “the left” which exists only in your imagination, there was plenty of criticism for Goldberg’s remarks from Tommy Christopher, Jezebel.com, and Shewired.com just to name a few.

As far as Dunham being 7 years old at the time of her offense, that is a fallacious number. When input the fact that there is 6 years difference between Dunham and her sister, it would be highly unlikely she was giving candy to an infant in trade for kissing and access to her vagina.
