The Chicago cops, Timothy McDermott and Jerome Finnigan, are no longer on the force. A judge ordered the photo released Tuesday night.

Since then, Finnigan was jailed for 12 years for leading a team of rogue cops on a crime spree. The photo was turned over the Chicago Police Department, which began an investigation.

“Appearing to treat an African-American man not as a human being but as a hunted animal is disgraceful and shocks the conscience,” the department’s board wrote after voting 5-4 to fire McDermott…

McDermott said he remembered no details about the photo, but did remember that the suspect had been arrested for drugs, and that the two officers had let him go.

“I am embarrassed by my participation in this photograph,” McDermott said. “I made a mistake as a young, impressionable police officer who was trying to fit in.”

Not a unanimous vote! One more vote and he keeps his job.

That says quite a book full doesn’t it?

McDerrmott doesn’t remember details of the photo but DOES remember that the suspect was arrested for drugs? Now who is supposed to believe that drivel?

    • mea_mark May 27th, 2015 at 1:50 pm

Maybe that’s because they did the drugs themselves after confiscating them.

    Was the game warden consulted?

  4. Bunya May 27th, 2015 at 1:56 pm

I can’t believe they did that! Did they actually think nobody would find out?

i don’t see the problem with the photo unless you were to assume that the black guy in antlers is there because he is black

in such a situation it would be more reasonable to believe it was just a bunch of people taking funny photos – but liberal minds tend to forego reasoning

besides, the real problem here is why the guy was just “let go” after he was arrested for drugs

is it cuz he participated in the photo?

Do two wrongs makes it all right?

      • LydiasDad May 27th, 2015 at 5:38 pm

No, but 3 willing participants makes it right.

        • causeican May 27th, 2015 at 6:59 pm

I was talking about the two cops you idiot.

Whether or not the man wanted to take part in photo is immaterial. You have two people, who by virtue of being law enforcement officers, are in a position of power and authority over the third individual. Asking him to take part and then taking the photo is blatantly unprofessional. Though I don’t think it necessarily constitutes a terminable offense, but that’s just me.

      are you on drugs?

Well your name says it all.

    fitting in?

    That says it all

Look at all these liberals. They see one picture and run wild. They know nothing about context. Clearly, the black guy was playing along. Bunch of whiners.

    • arc99 May 27th, 2015 at 5:56 pm

Look at the silly right winger attempting to defend the actions of a rogue cop who is now in prison. In addition you just make up BS like the guy was “clearly” playing along without a single shred of information to support your claim.

The only people it is clear to are clueless right wingers who defend police misconduct and then wonder why their pathetic Republican party earns less than 10% of the black vote.

      • LydiasDad May 27th, 2015 at 5:59 pm

The fact that his tongue is sticking is an indication that something isn’t real here. Context is missing. Only cartoon characters stick their tongues out like that. Or people who are hamming it up. You’re a loon who simply doesn’t want to consider the other possibility. You just want to believe all cops are bad. Yeah, Republicans earn 10% of the black vote. Interestingly, those 10% are the wealthy, educated blacks. And it’s no coincidence that 90% of blacks are living in poverty still today with a 78% out of wedlock birthrate. You must be proud of that.

        • arc99 May 27th, 2015 at 7:06 pm

First of all, I have family who have worked as both sworn officers as well as civilian administrative staff on the Washington DC Metro police force. So like most right wingers you have no idea wtf you are talking about when you say I want to believe all cops are bad.. You are full of sh*t.

In addition, you are a liar. The black poverty rate is not 90%, not even close. I am not wealthy but I am educated. I pay taxes, I work, I own my home. I vote Democratic. I know lots of black folks who are also educated working citizens who vote Democratic. My parents would be two of them, but they are now unfortunately deceased.

But it does hopefully provide you with some insight into the basis of my opinions. You go ahead and wallow in your lying ingnorance. Obviously you right wingers are quite proud of being ignorant since it is the only consistent trait most of you demonstrate.

Don’t try and give these guys any facts, they only confuses them.

“I made a mistake as a young, impressionable police officer who was trying to fit in.”

I wonder how many times this was said at the Nuremberg trials?

. . . trying to fit in, with what?

  11. johnnybizzoy May 29th, 2015 at 4:07 am

I don’t know about cop, or criminal, or good or bad. But I sure do see white people versus black people. Those are the kinds of stories I click on. And the more I click on them, the more stories there are like that. Now, every time I see a black person, or a white person, all I can think of is that they are black, or that they are white. It’s so odd that I don’t ever think of them as a human being with their own unique traits. Isn’t that strange? I’ll just keep going back to my favorite info-tainment site, to see what else I should be thinking about.
