The NBC affiliate in Chattanooga, TN is refusing the ad featuring a gay military veteran.

Dr. Jesse Ehrenfeld served in Afghanistan and wants to be able to marry his partner. He appears in this ad, from the group Freedom to Marry, lamenting how he’s “fighting a different fight” back home.

Well, they tried to submit that ad to TV station WRCB, but as network president Tom Tolar told BuzzFeed News, “It’s just a very controversial and personal issue, and we just choose to not air a commercial on either side of that debate.”

He says it’s an emotional issue for many and they just want to stay out of it. Ehrenfeld responded, “I believe so strongly in the right to our freedom, and I was disappointed that this is the position of the TV station, that they are not interested in engaging in an important discussion about those freedoms today.”

If we use the rights “logic”, then we could say that this means the tv station does not support the troops.
