4-Year-Old Shoots Himself Playing With Grandpa’s gun

A 4-year-old Detroit boy is listed in critical condition at a local hospital after he ‘accidentally’ shot himself while playing with his grandfather’s gun.
Grandpa is employed as a security officer.
The unintentional shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
“The grandfather, who works security, was getting ready. He took his weapon, the firearm, put it on top of the refrigerator, went downstairs,” said Capt. Mark Bliss, according to Click On Detroit.“The 4-year-old, who was in the kitchen, basically climbed up and got to the firearm. He was basically looking at it, playing with it.”
The child shot himself in the abdomen.
There were no other kids in the house, according to Detroit police.
The boy reportedly climbed up to the refrigerator using chairs.
