Trump Tells Crowd Obama Wants Executive Order To Confiscate Guns

Donald Trump revved up a South Carolina crowd Monday night by falsely claiming President Obama will sign an executive order to take guns away.
“You know, the President is thinking about signing an executive order where he wants to take your guns away,” Trump told the crowd of 5,600, according to CNN. “You hear about this? Not gonna happen. That won’t happen. But that’s a tough one, I think that’s a tough one for him to do. There’s plenty of executive orders being signed, you know that. And we can’t let that go on.”…

The President has not announced plans for an executive order that would limit access to guns, or take them away, CNN reports. But Obama has asked Congress to pass legislation for universal background checks and to help minimize the number of mass shootings.
