Rubio falsely claims Obama wants your guns

Pandering to the gun lobby Marco Rubio claimed President Obama “would confiscate your guns if he could.” It is blatantly untrue.
“I am convinced that if this president could confiscate every gun in America he would,” Rubio continued. “I am convinced that if this President could get rid of the Second Amendment he would. I am convinced because I see how he works with his Attorney General, not to defend the Second Amendment, but to figure out ways to undermine it. I have seen him appoint people to our court’s not to defend the Second Amendment, but to figure out ways to undermine it.”
…When pushed to provide a fact that proves Obama wants to take away Americans guns, Rubio said it is shown in the press conferences the president gives wherein “he can’t wait to restrict people’s access to guns.
During a televised town hall meeting Jan. 7, Obama was questioned by CNN moderator Anderson Cooper about the ongoing conspiracy theory that suggests the federal government, and Obama in particular, wants to take away Americans guns as a precursor to martial law, AP reported.
“Yes, that is a conspiracy,” Obama said. “I’m only going to be here for another year. When would I have started on this enterprise?”
