Jake Tapper confronted Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort with Trump’s previous admission that he impersonated a phony PR person named “John Miller.” Manafort continued the lie that this was not Donald Trump.

On Sunday morning’s State of the Union, Tapper began by playing a tape of Trump impersonating his own PR flack, then asked campaign manager Paul Manafort if the campaign is “seriously claiming that wasn’t Mr. Trump?”

When Manafort professed such seriousness, Tapper then confronted him on Trump’s prior admissions to the practice of impersonating imaginary PR people named John Miller and John Barron:

Tapper: In 1990 under oath he testified he did use the name John Barron, and in 1991 he told “People” magazine he did use the name John Miller so this has already been admitted previously. i don’t understand why now.

Manafort: I don’t know those facts to be true or not. I just know that he said it’s not him. I believe him.
