Trump’s ‘pivot’ still involves banning Muslims

But this time it’s only from “terrorist countries.”
During a tour of his new golf course in Scotland, Trump was asked if he would permit a Scottish Muslim to enter the country under his foreign policy. Trump replied, “wouldn’t bother me,” according to the Washington Post.
“I want terrorists out. I want people that have bad thoughts out. I would limit specific terrorist countries and we know who those terrorist countries are,” Trump also said.
Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in a follow-up email to the paper that he advocated that revision to the Muslim ban in a recent policy speech. But as the Post points out, Trump didn’t mention Muslims in that speech, and only called for a temporary ban on “certain people” coming from countries with “tremendous terrorism,” which was read as the billionaire widening the scope of his proposed ban.
