Lewandowski: Star of David lifted from neo-Nazi site just ‘simple star’
Never mind that the original came from an alt-right message board. Former Trump employee and likely non-disparagement-agreement-signer Corey Lewandowski excused it as just a “simple star” like any sheriff’s department would use.
On Sunday, CNN’s Brianna Keilar asked Lewandowski, Trump’s former campaign manager, why the Republican candidate continued to make unforced errors.
“Look, a tweet is a simple tweet,” Lewandowski scoffed. “And the bottom line is you can read into things that aren’t there. You know, this is a simple star.”

“Wait,” Keilar interrupted. “You are saying that that is a simple star. A simple that you would expect — you know, like star that you would give a child, a sticker, the star that would be used in things would have five points, not six. You are saying that people are reading too much into this.”
“It’s the same star that sheriff’s departments across the country use all over the place to represent law enforcement,” Lewandowski shot back. “To read into something that isn’t there is, you know what, again, that is the mainstream media trying to attack Donald Trump for something that really isn’t there.”
