Nothing to do with the rise of white nationalism in the Trump era, for sure.

The vandalism — which occurred either late Saturday night or early Sunday morning — didn’t include any anti-Semitic messages, but officials at the Living Torah Center Chabad believe it was religiously charged due to the fact that none of the other nearby storefronts were targeted and its close proximity to a menorah display.

“This seems kind of intentional,” Assistant Rabbi Dovid Tenenbaum told the Los Angeles Times. “With a religious artifact in the window, we have to assume so.”

…It isn’t the first time the Living Torah has been the target of anti-Semitism.

Most recently, a man stood up during a service and shouted “Heil Hitler” before running off before anyone could catch him, Tenenbaum told the newspaper.

A letter left in the synagogues’ mailbox about a year ago featured a swastika and the message “Get out of here you Jews” and around the same time, someone vandalized Living Torah’s Sukkot hut, according to the newspaper.
