The Big Lie: Trump obsessed with officials saying he was not under investigation
It’s all about The Big Lie.
Last nght, Donald Trump lied repeatedly to his credulous rube fans during a rally in Iowa.
Trump also wants his subordinates lying on his behalf, according to the latest leaks from behind-closed-doors meetings with Senate intelligence investigators and the special prosecutor, during which two top IC officials confirmed what they would not say during public hearings;
Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and NSA Director Mike Rogers reportedly told Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller and Senate investigators last week that President Trump had “suggested” they publicly state there was no collusion between his campaign team and Russia, reports CNN, citing multiple sources.
In individual, closed-door briefings with the Senate Intelligence Committee, Coats and Rogers also allegedly said that Trump asked them to tell the media he was not personally under investigation for collusion, as he had previously asked former FBI Director James Comey. Sources told CNN that Coats and Rogers described their conversations with Trump as “odd and uncomfortable,” but noted they didn’t feel the president was ordering them to directly interfere or pushing them to do something they didn’t want to do.
