Honestly, I didn’t expect Virginia’s guv race to be called so quickly! You nailed it re tonight’s high-profile races — across the board, it is an unquestionable smackdown of Trumpism!

ME-Q2, 10:22pmEST:

Phila-DA, 10:10pm: An activist Democrat wins big.

Larry Krasner was elected Philadelphia’s District Attorney on Tuesday, capping a once improbable campaign to be the city’s top prosecutor and amid signals that he would bring significant, if not drastic changes to the office.

A longtime defense lawyer and political novice, the Democrat won despite lacking prosecutorial experience and, at least early in the race, establishment support. But he rode the financial backing of one his party’s most progressive billionaires, and benefited from a fractured field of opponents.

Apologists for violent cops will not be happy:

UT-03, 10:04pmEST: In the special election to replace Rep. Jason Chaffetz comes the only and fully expected win for the GOP. Republican John Curtis, Mayor of Provo, is projected to win against well-funded Democrat Kathie Allen.

VA-AG 9:30pmEST: Eighty-eight days after poolboys Nazi white nationalists and neo-Klansmen marched with tiki torches through Charlottesville, Virginia has a black Lieutenant Governor. Democrat Justin Fairfax defeated Republican Jill Vogel.

NY-Mayor 9:25pmEST: No shock — Democrat Bill DeBlasio is projected to win over Republican Nicole Malliotakis and celebrity Republican Bo Dietl.

VA-HD12 8:59pmEST:

A former Virginia news anchor whose journalist girlfriend was fatally shot during a live broadcast in 2015 has defeated a Republican incumbent for a seat in the statehouse.

Chris Hurst was living with fellow journalist Alison Parker when she and a cameraman were killed by a former co-worker while reporting for WDBJ-TV.

VA-AG 8:50pmEST: Several news organizations are calling this race for incumbent Democrat Mark Herring over Republican John Adams (no, not that John Adams).

8:45pmEST: Uncle Dotard throws the former RNC chairman under the bus…

8:30pmEST:

VA-GOV (8:10pmEST): Democrat Ken Northam is projected to win, running far more strongly than expected in populous northern suburban counties against Republican Ed Gillespie, a former chairman of the Republican National Committee who ran as a Trumpian.

VA-HD13 (8:04pmEST):

NJ-GOV (8pmEST):  Democrat Phil Murphy, a former executive at Goldman Sachs and ambassador to Germany under the Obama administration, is projected to win handily against Republican Kim Guadagno, the current lieutenant governor.

UT-03 (8pmEST): In a special election for the House of Representatives, Democrat Kathie Allen outraised and outspent Republican John Curtis, though Curtis is expected to win.

NH-Mancherster Mayor:
