Anonymous declares total war against unhinged pro-Trump QAnon conspiracy cult
You mau have heard about an online conspiracy monger called QAnon. Esquire‘s Gabrielle Bruney unwraps the story behind the shadowy darkweb figure:

The hodgepodge of conspiracies that became QAnon got its start last October, when Trump, surrounded by military officials at a White House dinner, called the event “the calm before the storm,” just the kind of vaguely sinister platitude that sets conspiracy-minded hearts a-flutter. When a reporter asked him what storm he was referring to, he responded, “You’ll find out.” It certainly didn’t help that Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders did little offer reassurance, telling reporters that the President wouldn’t explain his comment because he didn’t want to “lay out his game plan for our enemies.”
Later that month, the anonymous 4Chan user who would become known as Q (after Q Clearance, a Department of Energy top-secret security clearance designation) posted their first hodgepodge of militaristic-sounding nonsense on the /pol/ message board:
HRC extradition already in motion effective yesterday with several countries in case of cross border run. Passport approved to be flagged effective 10/30 @ 12:01am. Expect massive riots organized in defiance and others fleeing the US to occur. US M’s will conduct the operation while NG activated. Proof check: Locate a NG member and ask if activated for duty 10/30 across most major cities.
This is “the storm:” a coming purge of all the deep state operatives, which of course includes the usually cast and crew of right-wing reviled favorites—the Clintons, Obamas, John McCain, John Podesta. Q, who they imagine to be someone or someones close to the president, is supposedly communicating directly to the internet hoards with hints as to the storm’s advance.
The whole article is worth a perusal if only to learn how the cray cray got amped up to 11. If you think this whole Q scam is nothing more than a way to prop up Trump by giving his least critical thinking supporters red meat, PBS agrees with you:
It comes as no surprise that as the whole crazed conspiracy cult approaches critical mass, Anonymous — the amorphous, loose-knit global group of hacktivists — are now declaring total war on the QAnon hoax.
Anonymous has issued a threat against individuals tied to the political conspiracy QAnon, pledging to sabotage its operation and expose followers.
The new campaign—using hashtags #OpQ and #OpQAnon—was given a signal boost on Sunday by the Twitter profile @YourAnonNews, which is widely believed to be one of the more reliable sources of information on the cyber-activist group. Its account has 1.6 million followers.
“We have plans,” Anonymous stated. “We will not sit idly by while you take advantage of the misinformed and poorly educated. In our collective we all have our differences and internal drama but we do have one thing in common; none of us are happy with your bullsh*t.”
